AFRIHOST - POOR SERVICE DELIVERY
I currently have a 200 GB day time and 200 GB night time fixed LTE contract with Afrihost via MTN. I have been with Afrihost since 2015. I have had wonderful internet connectivity till November 2022. Since then I have been struggling to make use of the my LTE. Up until November 2022 I was used to getting download speeds in access of 80 Mbs and download speeds in access of 40 Mbs. Form November 2022 I had from no service to 189 Mbs download. Most of the time I can not make use of the service dew to poor connectivity. When I ping the google site and look at the report, when I stop the ping the report indicates packet losses 7%. I am not able to make use of my connection for data calls. As I am working from home I need this connection to be reliable which it is not. I have just contacted the Afrihost service desk to report no internet connectivity. In trying to eliminate possible problems I have bought a new router from them which has not solved the problem. Whenever I report a connection fault I get promised that it has been escalated to MTN. The response from MTN is that there is no problem with the tower I am connecting to and that they have "reset" my sim card etc. In other words nothing is wrong, yet I can not make use of a service that I am paying for. As I have a bit of back ground on networks due to my occupation the answers that are given are general comments nothing else. I hope someone at Afrihost actually reads this message and gets a understanding of the frustration that poor service delivery generate to an extend that it jeopardizing my job. I now have to me use of as second and third device, which for interesting sake are also MTN devices, that makes use of the same infrastructure that my LTE router makes use of.
