Afrihost misleading internet data clients

On the 4th of February 2016 I signed up for an Afrihost mobile data package. Before I have done so I phoned them to confirm covarage in my area. They (Afrihost) informed me that they are out of SIM cards and that I should purchase an MTN card and get it RICA-ed myself. They will then activate the package on that SIM card. So far so good. But Afrihost puposfully neglected to mention a curcial detail to me. MTN deactivates any SIM card with in 90 days, that is not used for calls of SMS messages. On the morning of the 6th of June 2016 my internet connection was down. I assumed it was the network experiencing connectivity issues and did not pay it any attention unit I phoned that same evening. Thats when Afrihost informed me that my SIM has been deactivated. Do take in account that, promptly, on the 1st of June 2016, as with any other month my bank account was debited with the exact ammount for the data package I was signed up for. One process Afrihost never skips. Ever.
That evening I spent nearly one hour on the phone with a consultant to figure out whats going on. That was when I was informed about the MTN SIM cards being deactivated. The consultant promised me to get my SIM card back online. Also take in account that I barely used any of the data that I was debited for on the 1st of June!
The next day I was informed by another Afrihost associate that my SIM card for my Afrihost data is decomissioned and that I will need to get a new card. I demanded them sending a working card out to me. On the 9th I was bedited, out of the blue, R170 for a new SIM card and delivery only to be informed that the card would be delivered on the 13th of June. On the morning of the 13th of June, the courier bringing me the card repeatidly phones me because he cannot find my place of residence. I had to get out and drive to find him. Only after mid-day on the 13th of June was my Afrihost service back online. By the evening I get an email notifying me that I have less than 200MB of data left! Wait a minute?! Where is my 10GB of data that I was billed and debited for on the 1st of June? Back on the phone with Afrihost. After a lenghty verbal excange I got the 10GB data allocated to the new SIM device. This morning, of the 15th of June I log into my Afrihost Clientzone to check whats going on. My services sits on a MyMeg500 package. Wrong! Not what it used to be on. So I had to upgrade it.

Conclusion? I am dissapointed by Afrhosts pathetic way of doing business? They are extremely quick to take your money but slow to react on any issue. They also probably get away with thousands of rands of data each month because of this SIM card deactiviation thing happening. Shame on you Afrihost. You play foul! I have already last year moved all my websites from Afrihost to Hentzner because of poor service from the website hosting department!
