Afrihost loses active line with Openserve then Blames customer.
for the most part, i haven't had a problem. I've been a client for years. However. I've been without internet for 3 days. The line died suddenly on Monday just before 9am, and when i reached out, I sent the usual, all my details and a a photo of the router and the ONT (on which the LAN1 light wasn't on, so I knew it was a problem)
Service agent Puleng had me running around for 3 hours doing stupid things like seeing if the cables where all connect properly trying to reconfigure the router, all while ignoring the messages stating that i've already changed the cable, and that if the Lan1 light isn't on there won't be use to reconfigure, as there's no connection to anything. Finally, after all that wasted time, Puleng tells me that, oh, in fact, Openserve recycled the line. How do you not know that Openserve is going to recycle old lines? I work for a company in US, so i work form home. On Monday, I missed the Board meeting. I work for the CEO. He's not happy and think I'm lying about the internet, because there's a public holiday coming, and maybe I just made a long weekend of it. I get an email to chat about it. on Tuesday, I follow up. I explain that my work is in danger. "Nothing is going to happen today." I spend a fortune on mobile data just so I can call my boss and explain to him what's going on. when I ask for them to send me an email with the update on what's going on, they tell me to send an email. why do i have to send another email if i'm already on with customer service? Today i reach out again. Their one and only response is "we're waiting" Did they follow up with openserve? No are they going to? no this 'customer service rep' then proceeds to tell me that *I* requested to migrate, that *I* was with another company and now i have to wait to get with afrihost. (1) I've been with you guys for more than a year (2) I move here on June 30 and you activated my line of 1 July. Are you Joking?! you lost the line with openserve and you're blaming me?
I eventually get the openserve ref number from this halfwit who claims it's my fault and i give them a quick 2 minute call, speak to a lovely lady who at first said she can't really help, but then did anyway, informing me that the order was stuck in the system, but that she's sent it on to the technicians to get it sorted.
2 minutes, Afrihost. That's all it took to call Openserve and follow up.
I don't know what the hell you're doing, but get your **** sorted. One thing I can for sure tell you, is that when the company opens offices here, I sure as **** won't be recommending you as an internet supplier.
