Afrihost Disapoints Again
I found on Saturday Morning that my hosted server was attacked by Ransom ware virus. Claiming that we need to pay X dollars to get the files back.<br> I contacted Afrihost @ 10:26 on Saturday morning explaining the desperate situation I was is to see what could Afrihost do. Joyce from call centre logged call CBC-***0 saying that will speak to the server Admin on duty (apparently on one on duty for the weekend) and will give me an update in 45 minutes.<br> After 2 hours I contacted back again, trying to speak to someone in charge. Eventually Vusi was very professional and took upon himself to ensure I get regular feedback.<br> He then said that he spoke to the Server Admin and told me that nothing can be done but there is a 2 day old back up and Afrihost can restore that. I then said let's do it.<br> Since that last discussion on Saturday @ around 14
On our Dedicated Windows Servers, neither do we store nor manage the back-ups of the server itself nor the content stored on the server.
Where possible, our Support and Server Admin Teams will attempt to assist with issues and problems on the server, however, due to the nature of Self-Managed Servers, this is not always feasible.
We will ensure that your cancellation request is honoured, and that no additional charges are processed for the hosting package and the server.
