Afrihost costing me business

Our ADSL line got cut 25 January 2017. We tried getting hold of Afrihost's technical department to assist us. Various times we tried getting through, each time you are placed in a queue and holding for longer than half an hour just got ridiculous.

I run an online shop from home and with no internet my shop is as good as closed. Yesterday my husband got hold of Telkom and they informed us that Afrihost didn't pay them our line rental fees for the past 7 months, that is why they inactivated our line.

After another approx. 40minutes of waiting in Afrihost's caller queue, we got hold of Afrihost on Monday 30 January. They took us through checking if our router is setup correctly, they contacted Telkom and came to the conslusion that Telkom doesn't see our line as active (because they haven't paid them our line rental!).

It is now Tuesday, 31 January, it is the 7th day that I can't respond to my online shops' business. I just spoke to an Afrihost assistant again after waiting another 15minutes in their ridiculous caller queue. He says he'll get back to me, like the assistant yesterday.

Would it be quiker to get another service provider that will actually help me to get my internet going to resume business as usual? Will Afrihost pay for losses experienced due to their failure to deliver a service that we pay for? Probably not on both accounts.

Sadly and unfortunately turning to a public moaning platform has now become the only way in which I try to get Afrihost's attention to assist me in dealing with this issue.

Afrihost, if you would like to assist me I will truly great ly be thankful of your time.

Colyn & Carike de Villiers
