Afrihost Cell C and Telkom LTE Mess: AfriCOST

I did not want to have to do this however, i honestly feel i have no choice but to share my experience so others know and can be aware.

I have been a loyal Afrihost customer since i needed internet. I was on a fully functioning ADSL line until cable damage left us with the "Telkom no longer replacing ADSL copper,look for alternative solutions" story. There is no Fibre available in my area, thus forcing me to look into LTE.

This is where the nightmare started. After a lengthy wait i eventually received my Cell C sim. This solution was from day one terrible, i complained bitterly (multiple emails, whatsapp chats and excuses) to this day nothing has been done.

I then found out from others (not Afrihost) that they are cancelling all Cell C LTE services (sorry if this is news to you, you need to look for another provider).

The back up provider that is now being sold is Telkom. I ordered this new SIM and it has worked which is great (Better than My Cell C) however now i wanted to change my package, due to the magical cancellation fee i could not cancel my Cell C so in September i app**** for the Downgrade of my Cell C to 20GB from 100GB and the upgrade of My Telkom to 70GB from 20GB to take place on the 01/10/19. The first came and my Cell C downgraded but my Telkom did not change, leaving me with two 20GB Sim cards. From Day one i have followed up with Afrihost on my Telkom Sim upgrade and daily since. We are now halfway through the month and still awaiting on the Afrihost "Dev Team" to get back to us (Daily when i ask for an ETA i am told 24 hours). On top of it all is i am expected to pay for the data top ups when i cap which will be soon, not my mess up but i will be made to pay for it.

Service used to be amazing, queries used to be resolved quickly efficiently it is honestly such a shame as Afrihost really used to be amazing, i would recommend them to everyone. However as of late, how i feel now, Its unfortunately a No.
