Afrihost Billing for no service
Two months ago, I requested a new fibre line for the property I rent. I live in the granny flat on the same property, and I specifically mentioned during the request that it should be a new installation because the flat is separate from the main house.
Shortly after, I received confirmation that the fibre line had been activated. I found this strange, so I contacted Afrihost, who informed me that they had simply reactivated the existing line at the premises since there was one already present.
I explained that I needed a new installation because my flat is separate from the main house, but I was told that nothing could be done, and I had to request a new installation. In response, I canceled the line on the same day, without ever using it, as I had no access to it.
Now, to my surprise, I have been billed a cancellation fee of R999.00 for a service I never actually received. The explanation provided was that I still had the router, but the truth is that I never received the router or had any site visit or installation on the premises. Despite this, I am being charged the cancellation fee.
In the meantime, I have already subscribed to a new 5g Package with Afrihost and have been using it without any issues.
Considering everything that has happened, you are welcome to bill me for the R999.00 cancellation fee if you insist, but I must inform you that I will proceed to cancel my other products with Afrihost as well. This includes the LTE Package, 5g Package, and two hosting packages.
