Afrihost BAD fixed LTE deal
I signed up to Afrihost Fixed LTE MTN deal where you pay R999 for the router up front and when the router gets delivered you pay for data pro-rata.
I was fine with that part.
I got my router on 13 March 2020 and was eager to get home to setup my devices and start utilizing internet as I was bound to cellphone data up to that point.
To my dismay I found that connectivity to my favorite places are very good at first but as time passes the connections deteriorate. I contacted the Whatsapp Help line and was told to send all my findings to the support email. This I did completing on Sunday 15 March. I included a full Wireshark report on traffic and informed them of the whole issue.
Till to date 17 March 2020 Afrihost has not responded. When I logged the ticket the automated service informed me of my ticket number. This is the ticket number: [#XHG-***5]: Bad Online Experience
No one from their NOC team or even 1st tier support has contacted me regarding this incident. Not a single "we got your pain we on it" - NOTHING!!!
I am still inside the grace period of return policy of 7 days. I see now that they are wasting time to force me to go outside this "grace period"
I am trying to cancel the service and get my money refunded for paying for the LTE router (in my case ZTE MF286C router) but their systems are not catering for this process
I am done with bad service! I am done with shockingly dead ISP "help"
AFRIHOST are quick to take money but so much worse at solving the problem.
My problem can be solved by prioritization of traffic when connected on the LTE network. There are a minimum of 4 servers on Afrihost's side to connect through so it is completely possible to do this simple request. If this can not be sorted then why are they even consider something that they can't support!!!!
