Afrihost are no longer worth considering as a provider

In February of this year 2023 I app**** for Afrihost to provide us with internet access at my business premises. This was meant to be a seamless process. A requirement from Afrihost is that you must order a router since they dont keep them locally in Cape Town (this did seam fishy since how many other companies or people use afrihost.. *******). We committed to this since we wanted their supposedly better service. The payment was made in advance of R280 to get the router delivered to our premises.

About 2 weeks later I contacted Afrihost to find out what happened because we had still not received the router, surely it did not take 2 weeks to courier an item from JHB. As a company we send parcels for work purposes every week to all parts of south africa and its about 3-5 days for the basic service.

Afrihost's response was that the 'courier', lets assume they do exist could not reach our office at our office number that is never out of service, could not reach us at the premises either. This specific business has been at the same location for 20+ years and couriers always deliver and call us every single day of the week.

After escalating the matter they promptly told us we need to order another router at our own cost. According to them the courier will not try to redeliver the router and another must come from JHB.

I firmly believe now that Afrihost are ******* and have ****** the R280 for the router. At no point did they call us about this and have blatantly ignored our attempts to speak to them. They have even dismissed our request for call logs since we have no record of any missed calls. I would like to warn people of this **** to ensure no other business is taken for R280 since no router ever gets delivered. At this point as a business they cannot be trusted and I am saying that about all there departments because we have tried to get this resolved.

******* I tell you, dont signup for Afrihost ever. As a private internet user of Afrihost I am considering moving to another provider since this underhanded business dealings will spread through their organization and poison all other areas.
