Afrihost and Vumatel Fiber 200/200 is basically 0/200 - no ability to download anything.

I went for 200/200 Vumatel with Afrihost - the home, shaped version. It was great for a few hours, and then the speed went way down below what I was getting with 20Mbps ADSL.

So I figured I was getting shaped, and upgraded to the premium package of 200/200 no throttling, no shaping, but the speed has not improved. I get download speeds of 0b/s-24Kbps.

I've reached out via WhatsApp Afrihost support and they say I'm using all the bandwidth and that the problem is on my side - but nothing changed on my side except to switch to their fiber.

Today, the WhatsApp support chat started, but after an hour they still did not respond to any of my questions or issues I have raised.

Taking the fiber package with Afrihost and Vumatel has been a mistake, and because of the poor support response from Afrihost, it is turning out to be a really sad turn of events.

I've written them a long email to this effect, and in the meantime I think I'd better switch back to ADSL where I can at least get internet.

I've gone from supporting Afrihost and being evangelical about their services and offerings, to being disappointed.
