Afrihost and Frogfoot

I moved homes and my trusted internet provider could not find a signal in my area so I Googled the best fibre deals in my area and found adverts for Afrihost via Frogfoot. After signing up and paying for an inferior router to the one I already had (at their insistence) they finally arrived many weeks later to install the frogfoot line. I was away at the time and warned them as such, but said someone would receive them as I was was going to be out of town. When Frogfoot arrived I was not there and they said they would have to come back because there may be additional changes that I might have to sign for. So I had to wait a few more days again for them to come back. When they came back they installed the line in my bathroom (with two conspicuous panels) and put piping all over my neighbour’s deck. I was distracted and did not really notice the mess they were making. The technicians left wire and some paperwork and after they left and I called them back to collect it if they wanted to. They then returned much later and got me to sign the paperwork and took their wire. The internet then worked for a few hours then stopped working. I called Afrihost support the next day and then started daily calls to them and after hours WhatsApp chats - which resulted in me never actually getting any internet. After a week of getting no real resolution or support I cancelled the service with Afrihost and asked frogfoot to remove their mess which they refused to do so. Afrihost promised me that the service would be cancelled, but only a month later did I got a message saying my service had been cancelled, but they still charged my account for a service that never worked. I am now considering going to small claims court to get both companies to return my money and remove the mess. As someone who is good with technology and has had a number of service providers over the years – I strongly recommend you avoid Afrihost & Frogfoot when considering a service provider.
