Afrihost Allowed Unauthorized Device to Hijack My Internet Line – No Resolution After 8 Days

I’ve been without internet for over 8 days due to a serious network issue that Afrihost has failed to resolve.

An unknown Huawei router, not on my property and not owned by me, has somehow taken over my internet line. This device now shows on my Afrihost account as the active connection. My own router (a TP-Link) has been bypassed completely. This is a clear sign that my connection was hijacked outside my home likely from the network level and not due to anything on my side.

I run a business from home and rely on a stable connection. This outage has directly impacted my ability to operate. Despite providing all necessary screenshots and technical evidence, Afrihost’s response has been dismissive. They’ve attempted to shift the blame to me by suggesting that someone may have accessed my login or plugged in a device physically, both of which are untrue and easily disproved.

To date, no one has taken ownership of the issue. The network team has not resolved it, and support communication has lacked urgency, accountability, and technical understanding.

I have now escalated this to ICASA and am in the process of pursuing legal action for the financial damages caused by this outage and Afrihost’s negligence.

If you're considering Afrihost as a provider, be aware: in the event of a serious network problem, you may be left without service, without support, and without accountability.
