Afrihost Air Mobile – Ongoing SMS & 2FA Failure for Months (No Resolution)

I am posting this to warn others about my experience with Afrihost Air Mobile.

Porting my number to Afrihost Air Mobile has been one of the biggest service mistakes I have made. Since the port, I have not been receiving critical SMS messages — specifically two-factor authentication (2FA) codes, Google authentication codes, and other one-time PINs required to access secure accounts.

This is not a minor inconvenience. These messages are essential for banking, email access, secure logins, and online verification. Without them, I am effectively locked out of important services.

I have logged numerous support cases over several months. Each time, I am told the issue needs to be escalated to MTN, and then I am sent back and forth with no permanent resolution. The problem still persists.

The WhatsApp support experience has been extremely disappointing. Responses are slow, dismissive, and there is no sense of urgency or accountability. No one takes ownership of the issue, and there is no clear feedback or technical explanation provided.

This has now been ongoing for months.

If you are considering moving to Afrihost Air Mobile, please think very carefully. Reliable SMS delivery — especially for authentication codes — is a basic and essential service in today’s digital world. Unfortunately, in my experience, this has not been delivered.

I hope this review encourages Afrihost to urgently investigate and resolve this issue, not only for me but for any other customers who may be experiencing the same problem.
