ADSL LINE FAULT

I have been experiencing major issues since mid Dec 16. Afrihost first line support initially insisted that the fault as on my end after me doing the mandatory checks and elimination test. On a brighter note one of the more competent staff pick my query and apologized. Line Fault logged Telkom staff came out 1st week of Jan 17, no resolution of fault, towards the end of Jan 17 Open serve came out and did a through test of all areas and finally picked up that the underground cable was faulty. After another month 24 Feb 17 a Telkom tech call me and advised that he has picked up the fault and noted that the underground cables need to switched. Today a receive a mail from Afrihost stating that I need to lower my line speed: - Charlotte B - Afrihost.com ********** “ The reason for your line being slower than the Up to 10240 kbps line speed, is due to the dynamic optimization system of Telkom (ASSIA) which generally is app**** automatically for monitoring purposes. Currently, your line is being optimized on below 6400 kbps.” The only problem is that they tried reducing the line speed in the past and it did not work and techs that advised that the underground cable is the issue confirmed that lowering the speed will not make a difference. I when asked Charlotte B to confirm if this would resolve my problem she could not commit. Further this is the exact same issue I had with Telkom and Afrihost some +/- 18 months ago. The sad thing is that I have being paying for service for 3 months which I have not been able to use. Afrihost staff are so *********** and devoid of logical thinking. The excuse that Charlotte has given me is hog wash. At the end of the only loser is me the end customer as I am out of pocket for a service I cannot use.
