Absolutely pathetic service
I first ordered Afrihost fibre on 23/01/2018 with order number AH ********** 1CF59. At first, everything seemed like it would run smoothly, as the technician from Openserve contacted me to come and do the installation soon after (in February 2018).
But then the technician informed me that there is a blockage in the conduit pipe and that I need to get permission from the Body Corporate to lift the paving so that the blockage can be fixed. This took about a month and a half to resolve with the Body Corporate because I even had to get lawyers involved in order to get this approval.
Eventually on 29/03/2018, the Body Corporate sent out a contractor to lift the paving and fix the blockage. Turns out, there is no blockage and the technician just did not know how and where to install the fibre.
So I contacted Afrihost again to get them to send another technician out to complete the installation. I used their WhatsApp Help service on 09/04/2018 and also requested a call back. They never called. But on WhatsApp Help they said that they would inform Openserve that the conduit pipe “issue” has been resolved. Openserve never called to arrange an appointment.
I then contacted Afrihost again on 17/04/2018 and this time I was informed that the order was scheduled for today, 02/05/2018. I asked them to get Openserve to contact me in order to confirm this, so that I can organize for someone to be at home when they arrive. Nothing.
I then contacted Afrihost again on 30/04/2018. They again confirmed that installation is scheduled for 02/05/2018 at 8am. I informed them that Openserve has not confirmed this with me so I don’t know if they are coming or not. For some reason, Afrihost is also not allowed to give me the contact details of someone at Openserve. I sent Afrihost a number of messages in the last few days, informing them Openserve has still not called.
So, here we are on 02/05/2018 and, as expected, Openserve did not arrive. I even took time off work to be at home in case they arrive. How it can take more than 3 months to get fibre installed is beyond me. Everything that I try from my side just seems like a dead-end. Please assist!
