Absolute disregard for issues raised. Robotic non-empathic helpdesk.
I order an LTE uncapped package from Afrihost on 29th November.
I got my order on 3 December and confirmation it was configured on the 2nd December.
The router was not configured at all to what they described, in fact it was setup in the exact opposite way that would allow it to work on LTE network. (Im in telecommunications so I know these networks). The sim card seemed to be sliced into, thus none the the devices I have plugged it into can even detect the sim card.
When contacting afrihost on 5 different attempts, each on every support agent said it was due to it not being activated by MTN and refused to escalate the call higher, refusing to even consider the sim may be faulty. All just advised that I need to be patient and wait 24-48 hours. 24 for Afrihost clients, 48 for telkom.
If the simcard was working, I could activate the sim myself on my phone. Its now been 101 hours and still no sign of activation or any word from Afrihost support team.
Considering I sent photos of the sliced sim card to their support team, who refused to even acknowledge the photo, I am pretty disgusted by the experience.
I went to Vodacom now, and got a working LTE product for R100 cheaper in about 2 hours of service time.
Afrihost is a pathetic excuse of an ISP these days and they should have some serious action taken against their staff as I cannot imagine how other people are being treated, but according to the recent reviews it doesnt look good at all.
I tried my best to provide them with as much information to make the process smoother, but every one of their agents immidiately closed the call and assumed they knew the answer.
