54 hours without a functional website
On Tuesday, 6pm I provided a working backup for my database. At 8pm the same night, I was informed that it was being escalated to server admins and didn't hear anything again until almost 12 noon on Wednesday. Total turnaround time on the ticket: 18 hours.<br> <br> Not only that, but it would seem that an incorrect backup had been restored to the server and one of the database tables was now missing. At 1:07pm yesterday, I asked to check that the table existed within the database. He only got back to me at 6:37am this morning. Total turnaround time: 17 hours.<br> <br> He's now restored another backup and I hope that it's the right one. Unfortunately I can't tell because once again, there are configuration errors with my database user that prevent my website from opening the database. This has been a recurring problem for several weeks now.<br> <br> I started uploading my website at 2pm on Tuesday. As of now (8:16am Thursday morning), I'm now sitting for 54 hours without a functional website since I uploaded everything.<br> <br> Have I made a mistake in choosing Afrihost? In light of the above, I can't help but wonder...
