Based on recent customer reviews, ACER AFRICA (PTY) LTD is facing significant dissatisfaction regarding after-sales service and warranty handling. Customers consistently mention prolonged repair turnaround times, poor communication from the service department, and frustration with units being returned unrepaired or with new faults. A recurring theme is the perceived reluctance to honour warranties, with several customers reporting unexpected repair quotes for issues they believe should be covered. Build quality concerns, particularly around hinges separating and screen casings, are also frequently raised, prompting many to say they would not repurchase the brand.

Long delays from Acer for laptop parts
Purchased an Acer laptop 5 months ago.Unfortunately the screen cracked by accident.Requested their repairer Partserve to quote.Paid for the quote on 4th July and Partserve sent daily updates as Estimated time of arrival on 12th Aug.On 7 Aug ETA changed to 5th Sept.I then phone Partserve who said they will investigate.Send e mails with no replies.Waited for 5th Sept no reply. Then phoned again i was then told ETA is now 29th Sept.I requested the Partserve Cape Town branch manager to call me and she eventually said she will follow up with the Acer Regional manager who eventually rep**** to her the part will be dispatched 4th Sept and it will arrive 5 to days I would there never recommend that customers do not purchase Acer laptops if this is the period that you wait for parts

Acer Keeps Changing the Reason for Refusing to Resolve My Warranty Claim
I purchased a brand-new Acer laptop on 31 March 2026 from Incredible Connection. It developed a fault within 3 months and was booked into Acer's authorised repair centre on 23 June 2026. What has followed has been a series of changing explanations instead of a proper resolution. Initially, I was told that my laptop was outside the six-month Consumer Protection Act warranty period for a refund. When I pointed out that I had purchased it on 31 March 2026, making it well within six months, that explanation was dropped and replaced with new reasons for delaying the matter. I am now being told that I must either: Pay approximately R1,400 before Acer will issue a credit note, or Accept a refurbished laptop from the repair centre. I find both options unacceptable. I purchased a new laptop only a few months ago, not a refurbished one, and I do not understand why I should be required to pay additional money to receive a credit note. The constant shifting of explanations, the unreasonable delays, and the proposed "solutions" have completely eroded my confidence in Acer's after-sales service. I expected a straightforward warranty process. Instead, I've been left without my laptop for weeks while the reasons for not resolving my complaint continue to change. This is not the level of after-sales service I expected from a global brand. Since then, I've been given nothing but delays and excuses while Acer says it is "investigating" and waiting for information from its repair centre. Now, after weeks of waiting, I've been told I have only two options: Pay approximately R1,400 first before Acer will issue me with a credit note, or Accept a refurbished laptop from the repair centre. How is it reasonable to expect someone who bought a new laptop just three months ago to either pay more money or settle for a refurbished replacement?

Acer non existent customer support
Acer your technical support sucks big time. You are not even willing to assist customers who purchase Acer products. My laptop hinges are giving in, the plastic casing around the screen is separating from the screen itself. My battery is starting to show its age. I have contacted your company more than once requesting assistance with these issues, and all I got was scapegoating and referring me elsewhere to other companies. How can Acer Technical product support not be in a position to assist customers regarding Acer products? How does that make any sense? Acer, you guys are a useful as a parachute on an elephant. I will never in my life purchase an Acer product again. I deeply regret buying an Acer branded laptop.

Acer defective laptop refuse refund
I bought an Acer laptop from Game, South Coast mall. It has been sent back for repair twice!!!!!!!!!! First time took 21 days. The day we got it back it had even more issues........ It is under guarantee. The laptop has been in for repair longer than I have had. I can't work due to this. They are refusing to give me a new one. It's obvious this one is defective. I am getting different answers from game and Acer. Game says they still trying to repair and Acer says it's getting a credit assessment. I do not want a lopt that has broken twice in three months. I need a new one. What must I do with a defective laptop.

Wish I could add this with a 'NO STAR' rating: Acer Africa
Acer Aspire 3 A315 laptop purchased 14/11/2025 display issues 4 days after. Returned to dealer on the 5th day who tested and confirmed an issue with the display. Then sent to Acer Africa by the dealer as only Acer Africa can decide if the unit can be exchanged or will be repaired. 05 January 2026, Acer Africa rep**** to the dealer (after me hounding the dealer for an update on the status since beginning December) 'they cannot replicate the fault' and wanting to charge a courier fee to return the inevitable failing unit. I have worked in the service industry for 28 years, 22 of them within electronic device sales/service/support and throughout this time I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED a non-exchange within the 7 day return policy period due to device failure! I am WAS an Acer brand supporter... not anymore.

Poor quality of Acer laptops and its refusal to honor its warranties for customers
Acer is now selling poor quality laptops and does not want to honor its warranties. I have always used acer laptops over the years and did not have an issue until recent when i bought an acer laptop in 2024 through incredible connection. In 2025, the laptop developed a mechanical issue and started dismantling. This looks like poor work from the factory. When i took it back to incredible connection i was told that the 3-year extended warranty on the laptop is not active as the laptop was not registered. This information was not provided at the time of purchase. Now i am being asked to pay almost 44% of the value of the laptop for repairs. This is ridiculous and unacceptable.
