all members were issued a notice that the branch will close at the end of July 2025 and had the option to cancel or to be upgraded. I opt for the cancellation root. I have copied my email (one of many) sent with all of the dates as well as the people I have been in contact with and the events that has transpired thus far.Zone Fitness does not want to honor their initial cancellation of my and my daughter's membership ,cancellation confirmed in writing and is coming up with excuses and fancy footwork.

I must firmly state that I do not believe I should be liable for any cancellation fees. My decision to cancel was made in good faith based on your initial communication regarding the Muizenberg branch closure. Furthermore, I received explicit cancellation confirmation from Ingrid on 14 July 2025.

Ingrid confirmed to me on that date that July 2025 would be my final month for access, and that no further documentation was required as my request was already on record. She also assured me that there would be no further debit orders to my account, even if there were no arrear balances which there is not.

In accordance with your membership policy, cancellations are only complete once termination confirmation is issued, which it unequivocally had been in my case. I have attached the confirmation I received for your reference. Whether or not the account was subsequently closed on your system is, respectfully, not my responsibility, as I was explicitly informed by your colleague that the matter was closed and finalized from my end. My understanding, based on Ingrid's confirmation, was that my contract was terminated effectively at the end of July.

To be unequivocally clear, I do not wish to proceed with my membership at Zone Fitness. Therefore, I request that the cancellation fees for both my contract and my daughter's contract be waived, as the cancellation was confirmed and acted upon in good faith on my part prior to any change in policy being communicated to me in a way that would alter my confirmed cancellation status.
