Zone Fitness Initiating Debit Orders on a daily basis.
Signed up for a 12 months contract with Zone Fitness and have been in the gym few times since I joined. Since I've been there few times, I've been paying them every month since I agree that I did sign up on a contract. The problem arose on the 31st December debit order which the bank 'Standard Bank' didn't hold the transactions I made resulting for the Zone Fitness debit order to fail.
I incurred a bank charge for the failed debit order which is normal but now the problem is that, zone fitness keeps on initiating debit orders from my account on a daily basis since the 31st of December, resulting in several bank charges each time they attempt to take money from my account.
Went to the bank to ask if they can reverse all these bank charges and they advise me to consult with zone fitness to stop initiating those daily debit orders. I went to zone fitness and one of the consultant mention that she can't stop the debit orders, they will keep attempting the debit from my bank account which now in arrears due to the bank service charges being caused by them. A failed gym subscription of R205 is now costing me almost R1000 of bank service charges. If I couldn't have that R205 that time, where would i afford to pay the bank charges of 1k plus their 2 months subscription fees.
The debit order date is on the 31st of each month and I find it so unrealistic why they keep attempting debit order on an account which doesn't have money. No one from their accounts department called me to arrange a payment plan, now they expect me to pay all those bank charges and their 2 months subscription fee.
