UNHAPPY AND FINANCIALLY FRUSTRATED

I have a membership with Zone fitness in Cape Town (Womans Gym). I recently moved to Parklands and there is no zone fitness gym around and I dont drive to work anymore therefore can not visit the gym although Im still paying for it.

I understand that I entered into a contract with them, but when I proposed a solution - transferring my membership to someone else and they were willing to assist me.

I was told by one of the sales consultant that I could not do that and that my options were to pay 60% of outstanding fees or keep paying the fee for the next 14 months. Due to my frustration I didn't ask the sales persons name but it was a coloured male, who I found very hash and unwilling to assist me.

I can not afford the 60% outstanding balance or able to join another gym as I can not afford to pay for two premiums.

This is beyond unfair and frustratin... not being able to apply different strategies to assist their clients. I am soooo disappointed. How am I then protected as a consumer???? (under the consumer protection act)
