Unfair business practices
My son joined Zone Fitness Milnerton as a personal trainer in May 2019 paying a deposit of R2280-. He also signed a debit order for the monthly rental of R2280- to be debited on the 1st monthly and a debit order of R471- for Personal Liability Insurance to be debited as a once off in June 2019. To his knowledge none of the debit orders were actually deducted. When trying to enquire from the Operations manager Angelo Hannie about the debit orders, Angelo was never in, never answered his phone and even missed an appointment advising the receptionist to tell my son that something came up. How do you run a business this way and Zone Fitness are trying to compete with the likes of Virgin Gyms, really?????? Long story short, my son resigned from Zone Fitness on the 27th November after really being frustrated with promises made but not kept only now to be told that his deposit will not be refunded as rental was not debited from him. The deposit was to cover breakages of equipment, of which there was none, or if he should leave without informing them. How is this my sons problem. Surely Zone Fitness should take accountability for not debiting his account, after all the debit order authorization was signed. Zone Fitness should absorb this amount due to negligence on their side. Zone Fitness has a really bad name in the Fitness industry and I now see why. Do the right thing and pay my son's deposit back.
