They refused to cancel my contract

Cape Quarter branch

I have given them 1 month written notice at 28 November 2016, and told them to cancel my contract.

In fact, I have the letter in writing that I have requested to cancel my contrat, and they should according to law, cancel it. Hence, contract should have ended in end December 2016.

But all of sudden, my bank account was debited for full January fee, dispite the fact that I have cancelled my contract. I have nofified this to their account clerk 'Jodi' and explained to her she cannot charge for membership fee anymore.

Well the answer she gave me was that 'WE CAN REJECT YOUR CANCELLATION NOTICE.'

This is violation to their own terms and conditions, stating that a customer can cancel the contract if they are paying 60% of what is remaining on contract. Also, violation to Consumer protection act because it is forfeiting the consumer's right to cancel the contract

Also, they failed to let me know that they have refused my request to cancel my contract, and charged my account on their free will.

I firmly believe that customer's right to cancel the contract should never be violated, and this is not just ********, but also ********* business practice.
