Please do not take membership for Zonefitness
Please do not go with ZoneFitness gym membership. see the below email: Dear Zone Fitness Management,
I hope this message finds you all in good health and enjoying the pleasant weather. I would like to bring a serious matter to your attention regarding the Willobridge Mall branch. Our studio room at the gym has been facing a prolonged issue with its air conditioner, as it has not been functioning for quite some time now.
Given the current cold weather conditions, the lack of a working air conditioner has resulted in excessive humidity within the studio room. This has caused the formation of fog and subsequent wetness on the floor during our training sessions. Unfortunately, several members have experienced falls within just 10 minutes of their sessions due to these conditions. When inquired, both the gym instructors and other staff members confirmed that the air conditioner has been out of order for an extended period.
I strongly feel that training inside the studio without a functioning air conditioner poses a significant danger to our well-being, and some members are even contemplating changing gyms due to these persistent issues. Furthermore, there is another problem specific to the Willobridge branch, as there is an unpleasant odor within the premises due to irregular carpet cleaning.
We joined this gym to improve our fitness and overall health, but it appears that we are not making any progress in terms of maintaining proper hygiene and ensuring our safety.
I sincerely hope that you understand the gravity of these concerns and take appropriate actions to address them promptly.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Best regards, Vinod Bisen ***
Response: Good morning Vinod
Thank you for your email.
Just to touch on your first concern regarding the air con in the studio.
The air con is not out of order. Zone fitness as a company decided that during the cold winter months that all our clubs will do our part in conserving energy and assisting with the energy crisis by switching off all aircons until 31 Aug. The company feels that there is sufficient airflow throughout the club. I know the studio does not have much airflow and we try to keep the sliding doors open at all times. It is sometimes challenging especially when a class happens just prior to some people entering. But we are doing our best to accommodate our members.
As with the smell in the club. It is not our carpets and lack of cleaning that causes the smell. Our carpets get cleaned on a daily basis. The odour comes from blocked pipes from the store above us. The situation is addressed and contractors are fixing the situation over this coming weekend.
We are always striving to obtain a safe and healthy environment for our members and hope that you will keep enjoying our facility.
Have a nice day.
Replay: Hi Justus,
I appreciate your prompt response, but I find the wording unsatisfactory. As customers who pay for membership, we rely on Zone Fitness to provide air conditioning, especially during energy crises. We have committed to long-term memberships, and I now feel trapped for a year. Safety is a major concern, and if Zone Fitness is willing to take responsibility for any casualties that may arise, then I can accept the situation. However, if not, the management should prioritize restarting the air conditioning promptly with a proper backup plan.
Regarding the statement that "The company feels that there is sufficient airflow throughout the club. I know the studio does not have much airflow, and we try to keep the sliding doors open at all times," I believe the person or company making this decision should participate in a training session to experience the actual conditions. Merely sitting in an air-conditioned room and assuming that others are not facing issues is incorrect. I invite you to join me for a training session on Thursday evening at 5:30 PM. Together, we can witness the reality firsthand.
Thanks Vinod Bisen
