Pethetic services for canceling a gym membership that was never used

I took out a contract with zone fitness before the nationwide lockdown as I was still receiving a full income. During the lockdown I was not able to cancel the contract as all gyms were closed.

When lockdown regulations eased and gyms opened i was debited from end of August I was debited from Sept 7th I went to the gym as I tried calling to cancel my contract before the gym re opened but there was no answer. I told them I wanted to cancel the contract as I do not receive a full income and my health is at risk. Keep in mind I have never used the membership or the facility since it opened and took the membership.

I explained to them my situation and was told I had to pay a cancelation fee. As I got a statement I asked if I can make payment arrangements and was told via email no it's a once off payment even stating the reason for payment arrangements. The lady that assisted me Sharon Yon really had a stink attitude when responding to me and not understanding my situation as the customer. The end of September I was bebited from again after canceling my contract and disputing the amount and having it reversed back into my account and she still had the nerve to email me to revoke my banking and threaten me about being handed over for a service I did not use or receive.

The amount for cancelation is honestly ridiculous to pay at once if you don't have the finances and asking for payment arrangements yiu rather get rejected what kind of service? To top off this matter the amount to pay back is honestly double and that I refuse to pay because I did not use the service.

I was sent threating emails about being handed over to the lawyers and the amount of sarcasm in that email is really disturbing.

Keep in mind I've never ever used the facility and I took out the contract before lockdown so over never used the gym or equipment

How do I pay for a service I've never used and canceling this contract has truly become a nightmare I won't ever recommend this gym or the branch
