Unwarranted Collection for Unused Membership

I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with Zone Fitness and their handling of my gym membership. In 2019, I signed up for a membership but never received my access cards, despite several attempts to follow up. I eventually decided to cancel my membership but the process was far from straightforward.

Despite agreeing to pay the required cancellation fee, I never received the necessary banking details to complete the payment. My attempts to contact the support team, particularly an individual named Norma, were fruitless as she was always unavailable. Now, six years later, I have been handed over to a law firm for collection of an exorbitant amount of R9000 for a membership I never even used.

I am appalled by the unprofessionalism and lack of response from Zone Fitness. This experience has left me with a deeply negative impression of the company, and I would strongly caution others against considering a membership with them.
