Is Zone Fitness above the law

<p>I need assistance or for someone to point me in the right direction. I have a dispute against Zone Fitness in Wynberg and it seems they do not care about offering a good service, but are just interested in taking my money.</p> <p>I wrote an email to them complaining about their below par standards and that they were not sticking to their side of the contract. Their response to me was “…we are working on it, thank you for understanding…”. It seems that this Goliath does not care about the wellbeing of its customers, and the is nothing I can do. If I stop the debit orders, my financial record is ruined. The seems to be no way of getting through to these people.</p> <p>It saddens me to write such emails about Zone Fitness because other gyms in other areas are supposedly clean and healthy with service and equipment to match.</p> <p>Okay, let me take it a step back.</p> <p>I signed up for a year contract with the gym and half way through the standards started deteriorating and I soldiered on until the end of my term. Only to find out that their sales person had signed me up for 2 years, when I asked for them to call the said sales person (Mark) in they refused and later said he was no longer working for the company.</p> <p>The gym is very adamant to making me stick to my side of the contract where as they are not. Services that were offered to me when signing up still to date have not been provided. Does one always need to have expensive lawyers to be heard.</p> <p>Last question, is there a governing body that looks at the standards of gyms and insures that they do not abuse customers or meet the health and safety standards?</p>
