Heads up for those signing up

My husband signed up with you guys and was informed of a 5 day cancelation, within the same day he canceled the agreement as he informed the consultant he rather wants a deal that has a dual membership but for now cancel and he will contact them again. The consultant advise it was fine he didn't inform him of any documentation to sign, now a debit order is running on the account and we were advised to go into the branch. Went into the branch and they said it's to late that we had to sign a cancelation form within 5 days of the contact and when we informed them that we did cancel they still told us to pay a cancelation fee and gave a managers email address. Emailed the manager and I'm still waiting for a response, apparently this is not the first time this is happening to people but nothing is being done about it?
