No refund on overcharged premiums!!!
HI, I have had very disappointing experience with Zestlife. I joined up with Zestlife in 2017 and still currently with them. I am well under the age of 55 years, however as their default they have decided to put most of their clients on a higher premium which is 55 years and older. I don’t generally read all my mails and perhaps I should’ve responded to these mails however I assumed that they had me in the correct category based on the details of my ID and DOB! I only realized that I was paying more when I stumbled across their premiums on their website. I think the correct protocol in following through with premium increases is to confirm with the client irrespective if there were no responses via e-mail but at least follow up with a call. This should be authorized by the clients themselves before deductions are made. Zestlife should not assume that all of their client's are on a higher premium which is 55 years and older. I bet you if the tables were reversed whereby the premiums were on the lower rate they would recover their cost from you and yet they refuse to credit you for all the months you were overcharged!
I haven’t cancelled my services yet, I am waiting on their response. If their response does not satisfy me I will have to shop around for a different GAP cover.
The single's rate was not available when you joined in 2016. When it was introduced in 2017 we did communicate this clearly to you and also again in Nov 2017 and Nov 2018. We can unfortunately not only use your age to determine whether you qualify for the single's rate as we do not know whether you have any medical aid dependants.
We will however refund part of your premiums as discussed telephonically earlier today.
Kind regards
Noleen
