Failed management and terrible after-sales

Yuppiechef Brooklyn Mall is a complete mess. A great example of failed management. I purchased a coffee grinder (DeLonghi) on 11 April. It didn't work out of the box. I was "only" able to return it to the store on 13 April. I was told it needs to be sent to the supplier to check if it is a factory fault (as if it could be anything else). I was told about 5 to 10 working days.

So about a week and a half later I only received confirmation that it arrived at the supplier. Then, another week and a half later, it was delivered back to the store, allegedly fixed. Also, terrible workmanship - the (brand new) grinder looked a year older, dirty, and full of greasy finger marks. I took the thing back home.

It worked for 2 days and gave the same problem (the thing only has one button, and this button just didn't work). I took it back to Yuppiechef in Brooklyn Mall, again. I had a heated conversation with the manager, Agnes, and she said they would send it back to the supplier. By now, I just wanted my money back, I was fed up. She said she would send the unit back and I would be contacted by the supplier for a reimbur*****t. It's now been another ~3 weeks, still nothing.

I've been at the shop, now, a total of 6 times, we are getting close to two months, for a machine that did not work out of the box... Yuppiechef does not take any responsibility for its products. They sell it, and if there is something wrong, they just act as the middleman, which just delays the entire process (as I suspect they 'forgot' to send the unit in the first time, as it only arrived at the supplier almost two weeks later). The people working on the floor also have no clue what the process involves if something is broken, in terms of refund policies, time scales, processes, T&Cs etc. Even the manager seems confused and always has a different answer if I ask about the process; what is currently happening, and what will happen next. She couldn't even tell me what the policy is on something that is returned the same day. Seems like there is some kind of "price limit" - if it is above a certain amount, you qualify for a refund (after the supplier assessed it - obviously Yuppiechef does not have the ownership to do something about it themselves).

Overall, what a mess, for a silly, useless, grinder. I understand that some products can fail, but I've never seen such pathetic service afterward. Your typical 'helpful' (albeit very limited knowledge) sales process, and non-existent after-sales support.

Never in my life will I purchase from them again, online, or in any shop.
