Yellodata tricks people into buying with them
I was contacted twice by Yellodata offering me a data bundle of 2.5GB for only R89 a month. I would then also get free R20000 life cover and 300MB Hotspotter/WIFI data. The first time in October the payment and registration was unsuccessful, because they were being persistent to talk to me and could not wait for me to get home, we had to talk over the phone while I was driving and then got my banking details wrong. The second time , in December, I spoke to Terrance Naidoo who was very helpful, and again assisted me into registering for 2.5GB data for R89 a month, which is obviously a huge bargain. He then continues to say, we've been through everything, you'll only be paying R89 a month, so please just answer yes to all the questions I ask you. So I do that, stopping and asking what is this and don't want anything extra, just the 2.5GB and he said, no don't worry, everything is included in the R89. I then agree to everything and say yes to the manager over the phone as well, as Yellodata seems to only run over the phone or online and their only Head Office is in Durban. A lady phones me the next week to talk about extra Value Added Services, I immediately dismiss her and said I did not sign up for any extras, she puts the phone down. On the 15th of December a total amount of R200 gets deducted from my account and I see all these extra packages which I did not sign up for, deducted together with the R89. I am immediately upset and phoned to cancel these extras, asked to review my phone calls and hear how I did not sign up for it and I expect to be refunded for these deductions which I did not authorize. I struggled to activate the yellodata on my phone and had to phone numerous times before someone could assist me. No-one ever explained to me how I could check my balance, I had to go check my balance on their website everyday. I then noticed in January only, I am only receiving 500MB data a month and not the promised 2.5GB. I thought, okay maybe cause I signed up in the middle of the month. February, same thing happened, only 500MB. I phone them to ask what is going on, where is the 2.5GB. No, sorry, you must have misheard us, we do not have 2.5GB packages, only the 500MB for R89. I then got very angry and cancelled my account immediately. No-on ever phoned me back about the R200 extras deducted and being refunded, I had to phone and hear them say, no they did listen to it and I did however agree to everything. I am so disappointed in their service and lying to me twice over the phone about the 2.5GB for R89, tricking me into saying yes for things I said I am not interested in. I will never trust anyone ever again selling things over the phone. Thank you Yellodata, for nothing but making me realize you can never trust a call centre / salesperson over the phone.
