YDE Refunds Frustration
I bought a dress on 22 Oct for a special occasion. I changed my mind about the dress and decided to return it to YDE Centurion mall where I bought it. I only returned it on 13 Nov. The teller then said because it's past the 14 day refund period I can't get my money back, I have to pick something else. I disagreed because I didn't want anything else so they ended up giving me a gift card instead. I was unhappy with this and asked the teller and supervisor why YDE has a 14 day refund limit whereas other RSA retailers including Truworths updated to 30 days with the introduction of the CPA. Nobody could explain to me why and the supervisor started to get irritated when I asked questions about the gift card and what happens to my money if I don't use it. At that point I left the store. It's quite disappointing that the type of service and the rules between Truworths and YDE are so different even though they're part of the same group. The dress still had a tag, hadn't been worn and I returned it with the original slip but for some reason I can't get my money, I'm now stuck with a gift card. The dress will still be sold at full price to another customer but I just can't get my money, very frustrating.
