Wanted a refund instead of a gift card!

Very disappointed. I recieved a christmas gift which was bought on the 24th of December. Their return policy is that any item can be returned within 14 days. I returned the gift today (7 January) with the original receipt and the manager told me that today is the 15th day. Today is the 14th DAY! NOT THE 15TH. Very disappointed.
