Exchange/returns policy

I bought a dress from YDE at Sandton City on Saturday (7 Feb 2015) and did not fit it on because the store was full, fitting rooms were packed and I had to rush somewhere. So I paid for the dress which didn't even show on the price tag that it was marked down or on sale. I then got home & realized that the dress does not fit (I thought I was so fami**** with YDE sizes that I knew I was a 'xs' when it came to every item of clothing in the store). By that time I didn't even realise that the price on the slip was different to the price on the dress. So I tried to return the dress today (11 Feb) for a different cut or make as I figured a bigger size in the same dress would not look good on me, I get to the store & the guy helping said I can't exchange or return the dress as it was a sale item. My question is, why was the price not marked down on the price tag to show that it is a sale item & why are the \rules"that I got from the guy in the store not on the back of the slip. I mean I should've been warned beforehand that the dress was on sale and that the return police does not allow exchanges/returns on sale items!!!"""
