Frustrated Customer
I registered on WorlRemit on 17 February 2024. That same day, I made a money transfer from my South African Bank to my children’s bank account in Australia. I received an email from WorldRemit Transaction Help department requesting that they need to verify me and I need to upload a copy of my South African ID card. Then I immediately got an email from their CustomerService Department saying “Confirmation of ID submission: Thanks for submitting your document(s). We’ll send you an email as soon as we’ve verified your identity. It usually takes 5 minutes but sometimes can take us up to 48 hours”.
The following day I again received an email requesting me to submit my South African ID document, which I immediately did. This has now been a daily back and forth email trail and since 18 February I have been submitting my ID document almost daily.
19 days later and NO transfer has been made yet! No phones are being answered when you call them! When I email Customer Service to ask how I could fix the problem… NO reply! When I talked to the Live chat, they just ended the chat because they say I took too long to answer them.
I find this not only disappointing because the funds are urgently needed in Australia, but upset by WorldRemits lack of interest to help me sort out this problem. It is very unprofessional to advertise a service and not being able to provide that promised service…
