I am appalled!! I ordered an 8TB hdd from wootware last monday (22 july) & they delivered it on wednesday 24 july but on opening the box which I have to mention was a little bigger than the hdd itself, literally just a bit bigger than the dawnwing sticker on the box!! The hard-drive when i plugged it in to my pc was making a terrible grinding and scratching sound. I immediately contacted them and they requested for it to be returned. I preferred to send it back with my courier as this would be handled by 1 person.
Once they received it they advised that they (wootware) didnt have any stock and couldnt replace it and have to send it back to supplier. I emailed them during the weekend asking if they were able to get it replaced as soon as possible as i am in dire need for the storage space. They promptly emailed me back on monday advising that due to physical damage on the outside of the drive they would not be able to warrant it or return my money!!! I had the hdd for all of 20min in totality, I am utterly disgusted!! I purchased the drive due to them being able to source stock from the supplier at the last minute but then they packaged the hdd in a box less than half the size of a shoe box with almost no shock proof or fragile stickers at all!!
I need the cash returned or a replacement hdd as it wasnt my fault that the courier (dawn wing) damaged the drive as it was damaged before i received it.
