RIP-OFFS & ********* BUSINESS PRACTICE BY THE DURBAN OFFICE & OPERATIONS DIRECTOR, ESSA SULEMAN!!!

I rented a vehicle from the Cape Town International Office for about two months. The service at this office was great. However, be very careful of the Directorship, especially Essa Suleman (Operations Director) and their Claims Dept based in Dbn. When I returned the car to Cpt Int Airport, they checked it and found everything to be in order, though I was aware of a scratch on the left rear bumper. A scratch where the bumper need not be removed.......A mere touch up job. For that I indicated, I take responsibility. Two days later I receive an email to advise of another scratch in the front with two pics attached of both scratches. I initially paid a R5000 deposit. A day after the email, an amount of R5175 gets deducted from my credit card without no notification whatsoever!!! These damn ****** actually took R5175-00 for one small and one tiny scratch.....What a damn rip-off. My wife immediately called the Claims dept in Dbn to query and was put through to a Leon in the Claims Dept. This jerk has no customer service s****s whatsoever, was very derogatory in his approach, insinuating that the panel guys we know are backdoor guys and further commented that they use Authorised panelbeaters only. He sits in Dbn.....What the hell does he know who the guys are in Cpt! He ****ed me off big time & I took the phone from my wife. He then retracted and apologised. I refused to accept his apology......not after his argumentative and rude behaviour. He reckoned the quote amount to fix the scratches were R4500-00 + VAT = R5175-00.......this call took place on 27 Aug. I escalated this to the Operations Director, Essa Suleman, and also demanded to see the quote. The quote we received via email was dated 26 Aug.The quote read R1050-00 for labour and R3100-00 for the paint. How ludicrous!!! Was the guy instructed to get paint to touch up all their universal, white vehicles in their fleet??? It is pretty obvious that Woodford dictates to the panelbeater what to insert in the quote and in my opinion, that quote was hastily done. Essa then made an offer of 20% discount which I refused. I took the initiative of calling two panelbeaters, sent them the pics of the scratches and both quotes came to R800 & R850 per scratch. So a maximum of R2000. I then called Essa and spoke to him and he kept asking that I put everything on an email. I insisted to telephonically deal with him. He offered to look into it again and a few days later I receive an email offering me R1500 refund as a goodwill. This, after I told him they can do much better than 20%. Why this **************** and *******!I did not bother to reply to their email and is a loser of R5175-00......I feel Essa could have at least offered a refund of R2000 - R2500!!! Is their Company so in need of cash to be grabbing customers full deposits to cover for very minor scratches??? I am totally & utterly disgusted and have certainly retracted my recommendations of using Woodford Car Rental. NEVER AGAIN WITH WOODFORD!!!
