Not advised about the Credit score

I was very disappointed with the service that I received from Hartfiled Pretoria. I hired a BMW 3 series for a specific reason, and only when I got there to collect, l was told that I cannot hire that class of a car as it was considered to be a high risk vehicle. I was advised to downgrade of which I declined. I was never advised when l was making a booking that certain cars can only be rented if you have a credit score of more than 600, of which I was 25 points short. This was very disappointing and not transparent. I asked to be refunded as I made an online booking and still have not received my money back. I went to one of the reputable car hire company and they gave me a high end car with no hustle. I’m not sure what the fuss was all about as I was not purchasing a car , was only renting. Very disappointing experience and uncalled for. I'm just wondering if they do the same credit score check for international travelers.
