***** business practices

Great car great price but some seriously wierd business practices.

I had a car rented from Woodford while holidaying just before Covid 19 lockdown started. We had been visiting a farm where there was a confirmed case of Covid and as such were asked to self isolate for 2 weeks.

By now Lockdown had been announced and due to our exposure we were not allowed to return home contacted Woodford and asked them if they could pick up the car as we did not need it for the duration of lockdown. They agreed to phone me the next day and make arrangements to pick up the car. By 12:00 the next day when I had not been contacted I phoned to follow up if a driver was coming or not. In the end I assume that they found that they did not have time to pick up the car. We made arrangements to live on a guest farm outside of Stanford for the duration of lockdown and made arrangements to have friends pick us up to purchase food etc if needed.

When the car had not been picked up During Lockdown we used the car twice. It was unnecessary but more convenient than asking a friend.

Anyway to cut a long story short as soon as they were allowed to operate they made arrangements to pick up the car. Yet they still deducted 5 weeks of rental from my credit card. This seemed totally crazy for a car that I used twice.

I am at a loss as to how my bank can allow an an authorised deduction like this.

In addition to this deduction they have still not returned my 5000 ZAR deposit.
