Disappointed - "lost" key

Under normal circumstances, I'm sure that Woodford is a good rental company, but unfortunately, I had a horrible experience with them. I booked my car for 8 days in Capetown. On day 3 the keys of the car got lost. Woodford couldn't provide me with much assistance as they keep their spare keys in Durban. They gave me 2 options: Sit and wait for the spare kry to arrive, or at my own expense, tow the car back to the branch, pay upfront for the lost key and then hire another vehicle (in other words, pay more money). I opted to go for the first option. It took nearly 3 days for the spare key to arrive in Capetown. After I got the spare key, I decided to search for the original key one more time in the vehicle as I couldn't understand how the key got lost in the first place. I found the original key. I realised the key got lost, not due to my negligence (as I originally thought), but because of a damaged storage compartment which wasn't sealed properly and therefore the key fell out of the compartment and got stuck between the gearbox and the side panels next the the driver's legs. In conclusion, I am disappointed that I lost a couple days of enjoyable vacation time with my family in Capetown because of a damaged storage compartment and I am also disappointed that I did not receive more practical support from Woodford when the first key got "lost."

I am, however, in contact with one of the managers from Woodford and they will likely be re-imbusing me for atleast the 3 days of transport I lost. Hopefully more...
