Be extremely Wary!!
We booked a Kia Picanto with Woodfords Cape Town on the 22nd of September for R 231.28 for a day. We arrived in Cape Town at 8:45PM and were told that the inspection of the vehicle had been done prior to our collection as it was dark. We signed in good faith that a PROPER inspection had been carried out. We returned the vehicle on Sunday at 2:30PM and were advised that there was a dent underneath the car and asked by the inspector what had happened. We notified the inspector that we were not responsible for the dent and were completely unaware. The inspector said he would check on the system to ensure that the dent had been previously logged. The dent had not been logged and we documented our case that we were did not have any knowledge of the dent and were therefore no responsible for the damages. Two weeks later we had a surprise credit card charge amounting to R 3 680 from Woodford’s. There was no supporting documentation or correspondence to the nature of the charge. When we enquired with Woodford head-office to the nature of the charge and they advised us that they would respond within 48hours. We had no feedback and only after sending a follow-up email, 4 days later stating that we would have to seek legal advice, did we receive a response with an invoice for damages to the vehicle amounting to R 3 680. We have subsequently requested woodford to send us a quote and invoice from the repairs company to no avail. We do not feel we are liable for the change as we are not responsible for the damages to the vehicle. The service or lack thereof received from Woodford's is unacceptable and would never use this company again. Had we read the reviews prior to booking through woodford we would have probably looked elsewhere. Please be cautious.
