Average bordering on dangerous experience
Chose them cause of the rates. The guy who "showed" us our car just accelerated towards us at a pretty alarming rate then stopped in the middle of the road, got out and said "check it tomorrow" and then walked away. This also caused a traffic jam in the parking lot. We checked the car and found scratches and dents all over. It's late at night now and we went to go fetch one of the assistants from the store who was very helpful. I asked him when the car had last been serviced cause it wasn't looking in great shape, he said he "had no idea". On holiday the key ran out of battery, this caused the alarm to go off incessantly. All of this was super avoidable. Remains to be seen how much of my deposit I get back, hoping to not be charged for the existing damage on the car. I'm sure they are a good rental agency, but it was our first time using them and they experience was not very inspiring. Cape Town is a dangerous place to drive and you can't afford to have a car that may break down or that you can get locked out of. Just a little more care when handing over the vehicle would have made our experience much better. The guy who was meant to assist in the parking lot was very rogue and played a big part in this review being like it is. I dont think Woodford is a bad company and I would still encourage others to use it. I just hope this branch of Woodford ups their game. Luckily we are local and used to such things, a tourist would probably be less forgiving.
