1 Star – Poor vehicle and terrible customer service

We rented a vehicle from Alamo/Woodford during our honeymoon in South Africa. The vehicle was not in an acceptable condition: the trunk was unusable and we later experienced tyre-related problems that should not occur with a properly maintained rental car.

Unfortunately, the customer service was even worse than the vehicle itself. We faced delays during the replacement process, incurred additional accommodation costs, were wrongly accused of not refuelling the vehicle, and had approximately ZAR 80,000 unavailable to us for almost two months.

We submitted a detailed complaint and gave Woodford every opportunity to resolve the matter privately. Despite acknowledging the inconvenience caused, management refused any compensation or goodwill gesture.

Poor vehicle condition, poor complaint handling, and no accountability. We cannot recommend Alamo/Woodford.
