Willard Batteries won't honour their 2- year battery warranty

I have a 90 amp-hr Willard leisure battery purchased April 2018 with a 2-yr warranty. During load shedding in December 2019, I discovered it had lost capacity. At the beginning of January 2019, I took it to Supa Quick Vredenburg, the supplier, who sent it to Willard. Willard returned it saying nothing was wrong. As an electrical engineer I tested the battery and established its capacity was 22 amp-hr, forwarding this information to Willard at the suggestion of Supa Quick. I received no reply. I also tried to contact Willard through their "Contact Us" section of their website, again I was ignored. I retested the reserve capacity of the battery and the result was much the same. I took the battery back to Supa Quick on the 24th January 2019 and to date (13 Feb 2019), Willard have not bothered to respond. Its clear Willard don't care about their customers and their unwillingness to honour the warranty when presented with clear information that there's a problem with the battery indicates a deeper issue, possibly with manufacturing. The message is clear: Don't buy Willard.

I eventually managed to speak to someone who would listen to me, he immediately agreed to exchange the battery which is awaiting collection (19th February). Its a pity it took over a month to get to this point when there was obviously something wrong with the battery.

Good day Geoffrey. We're pleased to hear that you managed to get hold of someone at Willard that was willing to help you resolve your battery issue. The matter regarding the "Contact Us" section on the web site has been addressed as to why no communication had come through to us and has since been remedied.
