Willard batteries FALSE Warranty

In the 24th month of the warranty, the battery became defective. I contacted the willard call centre & was told that the engraved date & warranty meant nothing unless you have the original receipt. After searching studiously for it, we were unable to find it. I then even contacted the rep & suggested it be tracked with a serial nr, to which I was told they dont have that technology & as such cannot assist. Really in 2020?! Serial tracking has been in use since 2000. We have in the past always bought willard batteries for our business & private vehicles but it seems that now they're all failing as the warranty ends & they use the "receipt" excuse to avoid honoring the warranty. It is extremely sad to see a once renowned brand trying to wiggle out of honoring a warranty. The fact is that the battery is within its warranty period & the stamped date confirms that.
