Willard batteries disaster Pretoria north
I bought a new battery in 2022 replacing an old one for my car, in 2023 the battery gave me problems, I called them and asked me to come to their branch in Pretoria north. I went there they took the battery and gave me another one, this battery is giving me problems right now as I write this. The machenic asked me when I bought the battery I told him last year, when he checked the battery it’s from 2020??? Like why give me an old battery as a replacement when I bought a new battery entirely? I am so ****ed right now, they gave me an old battery because I’m a woman and I don’t understand anything about these things. The machenic checked the battery and it’s dated 2020. I don’t have my receipt however I have my proof of payment that I bought a battery in that branch in 2022 yet I was replaced with an old battery. Now with this cold front the battery is not working well??? What must I do now? Can I please have my 2022 battery this is ridiculous and unacceptable.

We understand that you’re looking for clarification on the battery situation. Our team did attempt to contact you on multiple occasions, as documented on the charging slip provided to you, but unfortunately, there was no response at the time.
Just to recap, when you brought your battery in for a warranty check in March 2023, our tests showed it was performing at 100% according to Willard’s warranty guidelines. In line with our policy, we cannot replace a fully functional battery. However, we provided a loan battery to assist you.
Our policy also notes that batteries should be collected within 15 days. We held onto your battery beyond this period in case you returned, but since it was unclaimed for over a year, we had to eventually s**** it.

When I returned the battery, they told me they will call me as soon as it’s checked, I never heard from them until I wrote a review here on hello Peter about the battery you gave me which was from 2020. The lady who called me asked for information on the slip which I provided. She checked and told me that the returned battery is fine, and I told her that I already bought a new battery so what is the way foward because I don’t stay in Pretoria anymore. She said she will get back to me. I’m still waiting. I want a refund as I told the lady, why should I travel to pta to get that battery when I already bought a new one this side???! Please assist.
