Faulty/ill fitting battery, await refund..
Willard Durban has my faulty battery, I am still waiting for my refund, after 3 days of standing the battery drops to between 4 and 7 volts, battery has to be charged before using the vehicle.

Please be advised that have been informed that a representative from the Willard branch in Pinetown has made contact with you. Our representative confirmed that battery was still in good working order. We as the manufacturer and supplier of the product offered you, as a gesture of good will , a complimentary free battery voucher to redeem on the purchase of your next battery. This offer still stands however should you wish to redeem your money back you will need to take that up with the dealer from whence you purchased your battery.

14 Nov 2019, 22:09Off course they are going to say the battery is ok, just like they said my old battery that they declared dead is now all of a sudden ok and sold to another customer. Where is your test results, the battery was delivered to your regional manager what is the outcome of his investigation? Bring this battery to me and let's have it tested independantly !!!!
Please assist, on the ***6 I purchased a Willard battery from Durban battery in Clairwood, after 3x days it became flat ( down to 7 volt) I then charged it with a professional optimate charger (the same brand that Durban battery uses), the battery would not fully charge and after a couple of hours the charger remains hot, this means that the battery is still drawing maximum current confirmed by readings on my multi meter. This means that the battery does not take the charge, after a couple of hours the charger should cool, this means it is charging up and drawing less current (results in less heat generated by the charger) until it just trickle charges. I have several intelligent chargers (2x optimate, a energiser and another brand), if any of my vehicles stands for 2x days I put the battery on a maintenance charge with one of my intelligent chargers, it is apparently not good for a fluid battery to stand. I am a trained technician and used to install banks of standby batteries, charge them up and maintain as well, these are then put on a permanent trickle charge to maintain optimum efficiency of the batteries. On the ***5 I went back to Durban battery and told them the battery is a dud, after insisting they replaced it, the second one had the same problem and I soon returned it, they refused to replace it and said that my vehicle is faulty, I had previously checked the charging rate with my multimeter and found no fault, I also checked for electrical leakage that will cause the battery to go flat. The vehicle was also taken to an auto electrician at Battery Centre for a second opinion, needless to say no fault was found on the vehicle. Durban battery said they would not honour the guarantee and Willard battery can take their Willard sign off their shopfront. They then told me that they sold my old battery to a customer and that there is nothing wrong with my old battery, but when they initially tested it they said that is dead, (it did not hold charge) i rep**** that they must have reconditioned it, I was then told that I know too much, they are quite correct, i do know too much. They tried to pull the wool over my eyes by saying that my terminal connections are not in order, I told them to to replace the connections at my cost but they refused. This is quite a new vehicle with only 35,000 km on the speedo. I then contacted Willard battery and Anoop from Willard told me to take the battery back and I will be refunded. On the ***1 I purchased a new battery from energiser and took the Willard back to Durban battery, the manager at Durban battery told me that they want nothing further to do with me and that i can go to Willard to sort this problem out. To date the energiser battery has been performing flawlessly. A technician at Berea battery pointed out to me that the Willard supp**** does not fit my vehicle , a fuse box that sits on top of the battery does not clip on correctly onto the top of the battery, the fuse box does not fit firmly and flush on the battery and is in fact raised at one end and slightly loose which is unacceptable, this causes stress and "pull" on the cable that connects to the battery terminal, this will not necessarily cause the battery to go flat but can cause the terminal to become loose if the fuse box is bumped resulting in a disconnected battery. I pointed this out to the energiser dealer, he gave me the same capacity battery that fitted perfectly and correctly with the fuse box sitting firmly and flush on the battery of my vehicle. it took Willard 3x visits to my premises before they took it away on the ***1 ( a receipt was given for the battery), Anoop said that the regional manager Ravesh wanted the battery on his desk. I had previously called Ravesh and indicated that I want a full refund. After no satisfactory response from Willard I posted my problem on "Hello peter", but this does not seem to bother Willard. After posting on "hello peter" Ravesh contacted me and said he had no knowledge of this battery after I told him that I was told that he wanted it on his desk. Durban Battery should not have sold me the Willard battery knowing that it does not fit the vehicle, they should have directed me to a dealer that stocks the correct battery for my vehicle.
