New number banned

So I recently performed a sum swap on a contract number that I have not used at all for the past 2 years. Now I tried to use this number for a WhatsApp account for the very first time and I could not as the number is permanently banned from WhatsApp. Attempt to get help has been futile as I was told WhatsApp received a lot of complaints about my number hence its banned. How is that even possible since this is the first account ever on WhatsApp I have no idea and the help center has refused to assist in any way. I am ****ed at them not willing to even investigate or give out any details because now I'm wondering if my number has been in use without my knowledge
