Heart breaking experience

On the 10th April 2023 we took our baby *** Pablo to westville. He was vomiting and had diaheria so we thought he would feel better if he had a drip. Firstly when I called the hospital I was told that the fees were higher because it was a public holiday of which we didn't mind. Took our baby in and the vet did a parvo test which was negative. She then said his temperature was very high and ahe needed to admit him and it is probably gastri flu so she will keep him for about 3 days and it would cost R16000. We agreed. We were then asked to pay R6000 upfront before they admitted him. When we left out baby he was still very alert. Wagging his tail and looking around. I got a call from the vet around 10.40 asking me if it was a good time to talk about Pablo and she spoke to me as if he were still alive but at the of the conversation she tells me Pablo passed away. Her reason was that his white blood count was very low and that his body was fighting an infection. We rushed back to the vet. When we saw her she seemed shocked herself. She said he had septic shock caused from something he had eaten. So we asked what. She said it could have been ****** pop and bird poo. And the she tells us she is so sorry, Pablo was such a healthy ***. She said she was shocked because it was a freak accident. A couple days later we received a bill with a long list of meds he was given in short space of less than 2 hours. A bill R10000 for less than 2 hours. And with no real explanation. I did some research and turns out thr week before they had the same incident so how did she say it was a freak accident. Seems like this hospital is not here to help our babies but only to kill them cos in most cases they advise families to put they babies down. I have seen a lot of bad reviews and wondering when this will be taken seriously. For them they just dogs and cats but to us they are our babies. I have also noticed that they will not respond to bad reviews but only to the good ones. Seems like they don't have qualified vets especially on public holidays so it's of no use in bee 24/7. Our biggest regret was taking our baby there.
