Wesbank's bad communication and Collection Processes
I am so disappointed in Wesbank. On the 24 August my premium was reversed due to insufficient funds in my account. I noticed this and transferred money into my account to cover the premium the very next day, 25 August 2020. NOW according to wesbanks hold messages if there is insufficient funds in your account the premium automatically is deducted once here is sufficient funds in your account. This never happened. I was NOT contacted, not sent an sms, no call, NOTHING to inform me on the above. Now my next premium was deducted on the 25th September 2020. While standing in the unemployment line on the 29th September my phone rang with a JHB number which I cancelled as I did not want to take any calls while standing in the line and what I later see was a call from Wesbank. Please note that this is month later after no other communication and 4 days after my last premium deduction (25 Sept). This morning i get an sms advising that I have now been handed over to lawyers for non payment of ONE premium. i was not even aware there was a non payment. I have done business with wesbank now for close onto years and this is my third vehicle financed through them. I have NEVER missed a payment and even thought I am currently unemployed have I also never skipped or missed a payment. All this could have been avoided if I was contacted timeously to advise me of the above I would have made a payment immediately. I now run the risk of being blacklisted and my credit rating affected because of your staff incompetency. I honestly feel like taking my business to another bank as tis is the first time I have ever had an issue like this and I am disgusted at the way this has been treated. This was NOt my fault, this was a clerical error and I would like an explanation as to why I was not contacted or informed of the arrears in a timeous manner and I was just handed over to collection lawyers.

I have had to call your office myself. I made an online payment out of my own as I was waiting on account details from the collections which to date, I have not received. I made the online payment using my FNB Cheque card on Thursday, 8 October 2020. I called the collections office to confirm receipt of my email. They could not see anything, I called again on Friday, 9 October 2020. Still nothing. An email was sent to me to which I rep**** with my Proof Payment. I called today on Monday, 12 October 2020 and apparently, they still don't see anything in their mailbox.
I eventually ended up calling your customer services to get another email to send the POP to. I am now attaching it here AS WELL.
For the record I have to call your offices every day since all this started. After this initial complain, I got called the next morning but I could not speak as I was once again in the UIF line.
You know I have been retrenched and am actively seeking employment and now I have to still deal with the humiliation of being handed over to collections for money that was in my account and a clerical error NOT MY FAULT!!!!!!
